CICD J-1 Teacher in the News
CICD Teacher Irish from the Philippines is having the experience of a lifetime as a Special Education Teacher in Shelby, Montana. She arrived in March and has been welcomed with open arms by her new school and community.
Irish brings many years of experience to her role and has found some interesting differences between American students and those in her home country, the Philippines! Read this article to find out what those differences are.
While Montana is very different from the Philippines, Irish loves nature so it has been a great fit for her. One of her dreams is to ride Amtrak, which is a wonderful way to see American nature. She plans to bring her children over this summer, and they will begin school in fall with their new American classmates. Many of CICD’s teacher program participants have families in their home country, and we are happy to offer support with the J-2 dependent visa application.
The J-1 Teacher visa is a great option for experienced educators like Irish who are hoping to expand their professional skills and build their portfolio by teaching in the United States. If you are similar to Irish, you might enjoy the serenity and small town warmth of a place like Shelby, Montana. Or perhaps you’d prefer a large city, like San Francisco or Detroit! Wherever you find a job, CICD is here to assist you with the visa process!
