EXAMPLES OF VOLUNTEER PROJECTS AVAILABLE

The main sectors of activity for most volunteer projects are: Education (teaching), Coaching Sports, Environment, Community Health and Conservation.

We also offer a special volunteer program called "Teach at home" only available in Spain, Argentina and Chile. You receive room and board in exchange for teaching your native language to your host family for about 15 hours per week. You have weekends and evenings off to learn Spanish, sightsee, travel and get to know the local people.

LANGUAGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

To participate in a volunteer program, you must be flexible, open-minded and tolerant. For volunteer programs that are much more "remotely" located, sometimes in areas that lack the basic resources you may enjoy in your home country or city, you will need to understand, accept and look forward to the challenges presented by a lack of common things you may take for granted like clean water, 24-hour electricity, paved roads, etc. Otherwise, usually no previous experience is required, as you will receive training and orientation in advance of starting your volunteer project.

Depending upon the country and your specific volunteer project, you can be required to have sufficient knowledge of the native language, and therefore may be required to attend intensive preparatory language courses prior to beginning the volunteer project.

You will receive a certificate of attendance after successful completion of the language courses.

ACCOMMODATION

Homestay options are very popular and usually the best way to be introduced to the way of life in your destination country (single or double room, self catering or half board basis).

For more independent students, student residences or shared flats and houses are also a good option.

Most of our partners offer housing services together with their volunteer programs.
