Internships Abroad
CICD's International Internships programs offer students a variety of opportunities to explore career paths and gain international job skills related to their field of study. On-the-job experience abroad as an intern at host companies allows you to experience first-hand and gain knowledge of international business practices while improving your language skills. Live and experience international life and culture using your international internship as the foundation. CICD's internship partner organizations around the world provide some of the best possible and most affordable international internship programming you will find anywhere. We want to ensure that you receive the most successful, rewarding and enriching internships, language study and cultural experiences possible.
** Eligibility and visa requirements, vary widely between countries, and are known to change without notice depending upon the whims of the respective countries' governments. Participants are expected to inform themselves of current visa and other requirements. EXAMPLES OF INTERNSHIP FIELDS AVAILABLEInterns are placed at companies, institutions and NGOs. Examples of internships include: arts & culture, computer programming, engineering, architecture, health care, social services, psychology, education, animal care (animal park, zoo), hotel, restaurant, travel/ tourism, horticulture, potentially other fields upon request. Placements are normally in full-time positions, approximately 40 hours/week. Most employers propose internships for a period from 2 to 6 months. Most internships outside the US are unpaid (or provide only a modest stipend). Some internships come with free accommodation. Interns can be placed in private or public companies, non-profit organizations or regular "for profit" companies. Host employers can be small, mid-size or large multinational companies. LANGUAGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSYou must be a full-time student at a tertiary institution (university, college…) or recent graduates in your home country, be able to communicate effectively and appropriately for the internship or volunteer position in the language of your destination country (upper intermediate level) and be familiar with the terminology of your study/internship field. Generally, students will be required to intern in their field of study. Some partners will require participants to attend language courses prior to the internship to better prepare interns and to organize interviews with host companies, if the internships are not pre-placed prior to departure to begin the program. ACCOMMODATIONHomestays are very popular and usually the best way to be introduced to the way of life in your destination country. (various options are offered: single or double room, self catering or half board basis). For more independent and or elder students, student residences, shared flats and houses are also offered. Most of our partners offer housing services together with their internship programs. FEESPlease check with us now for a fee quotation by completing our online inquiry form. (There is no charge to inquire online or by phone.) Please note that fees are subject to change due to language school and/or accommodation-related costs as well as fluctuations in visa fees, currency exchange rates and other factors beyond CICD's control. Additional costs to budget:
