Language Courses in France
LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN PARIS
LANGUAGE LEVELSCourses begin each Monday, except for true beginners who may be required to start on specified dates (we'll work with you on that if it's necessary). During the summer season the starting dates are the same for all levels. Placement tests and orientation meetings are held on Mondays from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Upon enrollment, students are requested to indicate their estimated levels. Students will also take a language placement test on arrival to ascertain more precisely their appropriate level of instruction:
LANGUAGE CLASSESThe school offers a wide range of courses: Intensive General French course (20, 26 or 30 classes per week), Intensive Long-Term (12 consecutive weeks with 24 classes per week), Extensive Long-Term (10 weeks + school holidays), Private classes as well as Specialized Programs (Business French, Hotel & Tourism Industry, French Art History). Students may choose mini-group lessons (4-6 students) or medium group lessons (8-12) for General French. For Long-Term programs, classes may accommodate 15-18 students. Classes are held from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12.00. No classes are held on national holidays. INSTRUCTORSAll instructors are specialized in teaching French as a foreign language and guide students in their discovery, learning, and mastery of the language. Students learn to communicate in a variety of daily circumstances through the study of dialogues and texts, utilizing a broad range of modern and proven communicative methods and materials (role plays, creative group exercises, audio and video recordings, current press articles, French literature, etc.). INSTRUCTION AND MATERIALSStudents are expected to progressively increase their vocabulary, develop and improve their grammar and oral comprehension as well as their ability to speak (in small groups, 5 to 12 students). Suitable course material will be given to students for use during the course. Books normally cost an extra $37.50 to $60. LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN MONTPELLIERThe French Language School in Montpellier welcomes more than 1000 students from more than 40 different nationalities each year. The school is one of the most established and well-known French Language Schools in France. With more than 13 years experience in teaching French in Montpellier, the school is specialized in language study programs and cultural vacations, which suit everyone's needs (adults, students, juniors, kids, seniors, families, etc.). LANGUAGE CLASSES
The school offers a wide range of courses: General French course (20 classes per week), Intensive French course (26 classes per week), Intensive Plus (20 classes + 6 private classes per week), Long-term-stay standard (20 classes per week for 12 weeks), Long-term-stay intensive (26 classes per week for 12 weeks), DELF/DALF preparation (3-week subscription min, 26 classes per week), French language + Cooking (20 General French course + 8 cooking classes per week) and also private class-hour or by 20 private class-hour. Classes are held from Mondays to Fridays. For Standard courses (20 classes per week): Monday, from 10.30 to 12.30 and from Tuesday to Friday, from 9.00 to 12.30. For Intensive courses (26 classes per week): same organization than for Standard courses in the mornings and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 13.30 to 15.30. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes with 15-minute break per day. No classes are held on national holidays (in 2010: Apr 5; May 13, 24; July 14, Nov 1, 11). LANGUAGE LEVELSBeginner, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced- you will be tested and placed in a course adapted to your level of French. Placement tests and orientation meeting are held on Mondays from 9.00 to 10.00. INSTRUCTORSAll teachers are French native speakers, have a university degree and the FLE (French as a Foreign Language) certification. They are experienced in teaching French as a foreign language and provide high quality, interactive French instruction for all levels. Teachers are enthusiastic, friendly and competent, making learning French as fun as possible! INSTRUCTION MATERIALSFrench Language Courses follow the "Common European Framework" for language learning, and our teachers use an integrated communicative approach in teaching which focuses on the student and his/her environment.
