Internships in France
Internships in France offers International students a variety of opportunities to explore career paths and gain international job skills related to their field of study. On-the-job experience as an intern at companies in France provides you with first-hand knowledge of business practices and a practical springboard to French life and culture. It is expected that participants will also improve their French language skills. CICD partners in France provide some of the best possible programming available anywhere. We want to ensure that you are encouraged to strive for success in rewarding and enriching internships, language study and cultural experiences.
** Cost may vary depending upon visa fees, exchange rates and other factors beyond CICD's control. TYPES OF INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLEOur partners in France offer training in various occupational categories. For example: Finance, Economy, Accounting, Sales and Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Publicity, Journalism, Press, Audiovisual Medias, Cinema, Television, Fashion, Business Administration and Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Wine industry, Architecture, Computing and New Technologies, History, Museums, Art, Art Museums and Galleries, Social Services, Psychology, Health, Law, Politics, Government, Public Administration. Placements are normally in full-time positions, approximately 35 hours/week. Most employers propose internships for a period from 2 to 6 months. Most internships are unpaid. However, in the Hospitality sector, hotels often do offer full board and/or lodging or pocket money to their interns. Trainees can be placed in private or public companies, non-profit organizations or regular "for profit" companies, headquartered either in France or internationally. Host employers can be small, mid-size or large multinational companies. LANGUAGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSYou must be a full-time student at a tertiary institution (university, college) in your home country, be able to communicate effectively in French (upper intermediate level) and be familiar with the French terminology of your study/internship field. Students must intern in their field of study. You are not allowed to change your internship during the program. An intensive language course program is offered (and will most likely be required depending upon your language level) prior to an internship in Paris or Montpellier. You will receive a certificate of completion after the successfully completing the language course. Non-European participants are not allowed to take casual jobs or work outside of the training program as a condition of and stipulated on their visa. ACCOMMODATIONHomestays are very popular and usually the best way to be introduced to the French way of life (single or double room, self catering or half board basis). For more independent students, the student residence is also a good option. Please note that Paris is more expensive than Montpellier. Please click here for accommodation details. PROGRAM COST INCLUDES:
Additional services in Paris: if you intend to arrive in Paris and spend a few days there first before traveling south to Montpellier, our partner can book a youth hostel or hotel for you as well as your train ticket. Just let us know with enough time in advance. For example: 3 nights in Paris in a Youth Hostel (single room) on arrival costs from $105 per night and pre-booked train ticket for Montpellier from $120. Additional expenses to budget:
